A few weeks ago I read an article about online protection for minors. I personally have no protection software on my computer. I don’t feel it is important to restrict what content is viewable for people. I think the anonymity of the internet is a good thing in most circumstances.
Archive for April, 2008I recently read an article that claimed that youtube and social networking sites similar to that have lead to an increase in teen violence. I don’t believe this is true. People have always been desensitized to violence, gladiatorial fights and public executions greatly predate violent movies and videogames. If anything I believe that fighting is less socially acceptable than it was 40 years ago. This week I made my blog look more exciting by adding a little pig avatar that greets you. The other thing I added was the ability to look at the page in a plain text format. This will appeal to any readers that have inadaquate vision. Kayleigh, Alyssa, and I made a tutorial on making a brochure with Microsoft Publisher. We had to use microsoft encoder and a headset. It took a few tries to get it done right, but we eventually finished it without screwing up. I think we will get an A+ for our exceptional tutorial. http://kurtm.edublogs.org/2008/03/14/working-with-my-blog/ I went through this same ordeal that week. The edublogs site is a little difficult to navigate and is painfully slow. www.edublogs.org This week we were put into groups to work on making a tutorial. My group chose to make one explaining Microsoft Publisher. We are planning on demonstrating how to create a brochure using the program. |
